About Kathy Le

Kathy is a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT143828) working under the supervision of Dr. Stephanie Van Stralen (PSY 28471). 

Kathy has been working in private practice since 2019–seeing individuals and couples through a lens of empathy, empowerment, and support. Prior to her work in private practice, Kathy worked with Santa Ana Unified School District providing psychotherapy to children grades K-12. 

She is dedicated to creating a safe environment for clients to process traumas, current stressors, and life changes. Kathy has worked with a variety of clients with Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, and relational issues. She is accepting of all persons of color, LGBTQ+, non traditional relationships, and neurodiversity.

Kathy is trained in and practices the following modalities and interventions: 

  • A structured therapy that encourages the patient to briefly focus on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories.

  • Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) is an action-oriented approach to psychotherapy that stems from traditional behavior therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. Clients learn to stop avoiding, denying, and struggling with their inner emotions and, instead, accept that these deeper feelings are appropriate responses to certain situations that should not prevent them from moving forward in their lives.
